Meet the Makers: Meet Colleen Jordan, co-founder of Society of Lady Makers
- What’s Your Name?
- Where are you from? Where do you live now?
I’m kind of from everywhere. I’ve lived in Louisiana, Hawaii, South Carolina, Georgia, and Sweden. Right now I live in Atlanta, GA.
- What do you do? Tell us about your work!
I’m one of the co-founders of Society of Lady Makers, and I also am the founder of Wearable Planter. I make 3D printed jewelry during the day, and help run Society of Lady Makers at night.
- Favorite pastime?
Photography. And napping.
- Favorite color?
- Where can we find you on the internet (instagram, website, etc.)?
You can find my portfolio at colleen.cc. My business, Wearable Planter, is at wearplants.com, and on instagram. I also just started a new instagram account, Printed + Made, to share more of my 3D printed projects.
- What’s your favorite project you’ve worked on?
My answer to that is usually dependent on what I’ve finished most recently or what I’m working on now! Right now I’m making some 3D printed beads and I’m having a lot of fun working on that.
- What do you do to relax?
I’m a woman of many hobbies! Right now I’m into growing a vegetable garden and coloring. I also really like cooking and making kombucha.
- Do you have any pets?
Yes, Jack Treats. He’s a sassy little chihuahua mix.
- What inspires you?
Going on walks and observing the world. Something about strolling and people watching is really inspiring to me!
- What do you want to be when you grow up?
I’d love to be the director of an arts non-profit and help artists and makers put on shows and get grants for their work. Growing up my mom worked at the Beaufort County Arts Council, and I’d love to do something similar to enhance the arts in a community.
- What’s your favorite pizza topping?
That depends on the day! Usually I like white pizzas with pesto though.
